GFM proudly presents Toni Tundo's latest dolly designs, culminating a
lifetime of experience in mechanical engineering and demonstrating his
over 20 years of direct involvement with electromechanical dollies.As
the deluxe model, the GF-Primo Base has a central "one touch" selector
allowing for immediate, one handed, switch over to crab, front or rear
wheel steering. Its telescopic and inclining steering rod perfects the
GF-Primo'smanoeuvrability and puts it in a league of its own.
The more economical GF-Secondo Base Dolly can also switch from crab,
front or rear wheel steering but to do so, each wheel must be adjusted
individually. Its standard steering
rod is telescopic but not inclining.The GF-Primo Dolly is equipped with
wireless radio control as well as secondary cable control as a standard
feature for vertical column movement.
The GF-Secondo Dolly is equipped with cable control as the standard
operational mode (wireless control is available as an extra).
GF-Primo Features

The "one touch" selector allows for an immediate, one handed,
switchover to crab, front or rear wheel steering. The maintenance free
gear box also functions as a fifth, central steering position in
addition to the steering positions found on each of the 4 wheel
arms.This system, among central post dollies unique to the GF-Primo,
improves its mobility and maneuverability. By steering from the central
position it is easier to make a straight dolly shot because the usual
dolly drift, common to central post dollies, is eliminated. By pushing
on centre, the dolly is easier to direct. Surface unevenness can be
counteracted in either the front or rear wheel steering modes.
With a choice of 5 steering positions working on tight sets and fast dolly direction changes become a lot more manageable.
Individual Movement Control
The telescopic and inclining steering rod perfects the GF-Primo's
maneuverability and puts it in a league of its own. It's stability as a
push or pull bar is second to none. The tilt angle can be locked off at
set positions or kept in stepless, quick adjustment mode for immediate
in-move position changes.In stepless mode, even the drag can be set to
individual preferences. The steering rods unique telescopic adjustment
helps make the GF-Primo Dolly more user-friendly as it allows each
Dolly Grip to set their own preferred individual working height.
The hand control unit fits snuggly into the steering handle to enable a comfortable and user friendly operation of the GF-Primo.
To
perfect the operational comfort, the Dolly Grip can adjust the hand
control unit's position to suit his own individual needs and in doing
so, can be positioned at just the right angle to provide clear

Wireless Operation
During the dolly's development stage major consideration was given to
the design and functionality of the hand control unit. Coupled with
cmotion's experience with their own lens control systems and GFMs
knowledge and feed-back from dolly grips, the decision was made to go
for a state of the art, wireless radio controll. The result is an
ergonomic wireless hand control unit that rests comfortably in the
user's hand, providing reliable, interference free control. Cable
operation is also incorporated.
The familiar rocker switch was selected as the drive mechanism and is
set at a level to give the operator ultimate control of the column. The
display is clear and easy to understand, giving even first time
operators confidence and guidance.
All functions can be activated from the hand control and the status of each mode is shown on the LCD display.

Multifunctional Turnstile Mount
The GF-Primo Dolly's multifunctional turnstile mount accepts four
adapters to provide more seating and camera positions than other
central column dolly e.g. two persons, two cameras.
By attaching standard GFM accessories such as the Combi-rig, high/low
rigs, off-set brackets etc directly onto the turnstile mount, changing
the camera position in relationship to the camera operator is a simple
matter.This function combined with the rotatable column enables
position adjustments of the camera or operator to be made without any
great effort, creating a flexible and comfortable working situation.
The turnstile bracket is machined from solid, high grade aluminium and
provides a selection of threaded (12mm & 3/8”) and non-threaded
holes (12, 25 & 28mm). The perfect tool for mounting various
adapters such as low shot plates, lighting stands, monitor holders,
seat arm extensions, counter weight rods etc.
The Ultimate Platform System
The GF-Primo’s stable and multifunctional platform set is machined from
solid, high grade aluminium and provides a selection of threaded (12mm
& 3/8”) and non-threaded holes (12, 25 & 28mm).
The perfect tool for mounting various adapters such as low shot plates, lighting stands, monitor holders, seat arm
extensions, counter weight rods etc. Special adapters are available for
attaching scaffold tubes directly to the platforms, providing even more
rigging options.As well as providing a solid base for the operators to
stand and walk on, when used in conjunction with seat arm extensions,
steps or low platforms can be built allowing alternative standing
positions.
The GF-Platforms are easy to handle and with an integrated carry grip
and can be silently attached to the dolly base. The unique locking
system utilizes the bases carry handles, ensuring a fast and no-play
connection.
The GF-Low Platform System
GFM's Low Platform System compliments the standard platform system by
offering variable heights plus an expansion of the standing room on the
dolly base.
The platform can carry 100kg and comes in 2 versions:The
multifunctional platform set is machined from solid, high grade
aluminium and provides a selection of threaded (12mm & 3/8") and
non-threaded holes (12, 25 & 28mm) as well as elongated slots.It's
an ideal base for mounting various adapters such as low shot plates,
lighting stands, monitor holders, seat arm extensions, counter weight
rods etc. Special adapters are available for attaching scaffold tubes
directly to the platforms, providing even more rigging options.
Track or skateboard wheels can be attached and provide an additional
option for use on straight track.It is a 2 part construction, allowing
the main section of the platform to be combined with the standard 4
piece platform set providing a larger standing area.
Pneumatic "BIG" wheels
The all terrain, quick release, pneumatic "BIG" wheels are a unique
feature only available with GFM dollies. They attach to the standard
studio wheels without the use of tools and are clamped to them in
seconds with a special claw design.The standard wheel brake is used to
secure the base on slopes etc. Due to the stability of the "BIG" wheels
and the extra ground clearance, the dolly can not only be transported
over rough terrains but also used for shooting on rougher surfaces than
with normal pneumatics.
